Blend is looking for a seasoned and visionary Senior Director of Content who thrives on storytelling and creating impactful strategies to drive engagement and business growth. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing, audience dynamics across B2B and B2C sectors, and market trends. You will be responsible for crafting and executing Blend’s content strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels, positioning us as an industry leader while generating demand and supporting revenue growth.
As the head of the content team, you’ll lead the development of cross-channel assets that align with business priorities and market trends. In addition to setting the strategic vision, you’ll actively contribute as a player-coach by overseeing editorial initiatives and creating content yourself. This role demands exceptional strategic thinking, outstanding communication skills, and a commitment to delivering measurable results.
Your Role at Blend
As Senior Director, Content, you will:
Develop and Lead Content Strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive content strategy that supports marketing goals, enhances brand visibility, and fuels business growth.
Leverage Insights: Use market research to identify content opportunities and refine strategies for greater audience engagement and lead generation.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product Marketing, Brand, Design, Web, Sales, and Demand Generation teams to ensure content aligns with broader business initiatives.
Manage and Mentor: Lead, inspire, and support a team of content creators to deliver exceptional work while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Oversee Content Lifecycle: Manage content creation from ideation to execution, including editorial planning, writing, publishing, and performance analysis.
Create Cross-Channel Content: Develop and maintain a diverse portfolio of content across formats such as blogs, videos, whitepapers, case studies, webinars, social media, and more.
Integrate Best Practices: Partner with the marketing team to incorporate SEO and social strategies, ensuring content drives maximum organic reach and visibility.
Set and Track KPIs: Define content performance metrics, analyze results, and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
Support Customer Lifecycle: Collaborate with Demand Generation to develop content strategies tailored to every stage of the customer journey, from awareness to retention.
Stay Ahead of Trends: Continuously monitor content marketing trends and innovations to evolve Blend’s content strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
What You Bring
Experience: 7–10 years of experience in leading content strategy for B2B organizations, preferably in the digital marketing or media space.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to mentor and lead content teams, fostering collaboration and delivering outstanding results.
Content Expertise: Deep knowledge of content strategy, storytelling, and digital marketing trends, with a strong portfolio of cross-channel work.
Analytical Mindset: Skilled in leveraging data and insights to shape strategies and measure success.
Communication Excellence: Exceptional ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.
AI Proficiency: Familiarity with AI tools to streamline content creation and improve execution efficiency.
Strategic Vision: A forward-thinking approach to aligning content strategies with broader business objectives and evolving market trends.
